Kylea shares her week
Week 13: Celebrating our bonds of citizenship
Posted by Kylea Tink · September 16, 2022 10:41 AM
Tomorrow, on 17 September, we celebrate Australian Citizenship Day — an opportunity for us all to reflect on what it means to be Australian. |
Week 12: Getting on with the climate work ahead
Posted by Kylea Tink · September 09, 2022 10:40 AM
With the Climate Change Bill now set to become law, I've been working hard to hold the Government to its targets and ensure we're on track for future improvements. |
Week 11: Training, migration and other changes you want to see
Posted by Kylea Tink · September 02, 2022 10:37 AM
The Jobs and Skills Summit is well underway, putting a renewed focus on Australia's workforce issues ahead of next week's parliamentary sittings.
Week 10: Our Care Economy and the Jobs Summit
Posted by Kylea Tink · August 26, 2022 10:00 AM
Thanks to all who have responded to my invitation to comment on the Jobs and Skills Summit. Your feedback will help shape North Sydney's position on key topics to do with Australia's workforce and economy.
Week 9: Fuel and Vehicle Emissions Standards
Posted by Kylea Tink · August 19, 2022 10:00 AM
It's no secret that Australian cars are some of the most polluting in the OECD, due in large part to our continued use of dirty fuels. Our lack of fuel efficiency standards has made it difficult for car manufacturers to bring new, more efficient vehicle models into the country, including EVs.
Week 8: Raising the Standards at Parliament House
Posted by Kylea Tink · August 12, 2022 10:00 AM
Before the election, I publicly argued for a binding Code of Conduct to address bad behaviour within Parliament House. I am pleased to have now been appointed to the Joint Select Committee on Parliamentary Standards. I look forward to working with my colleagues over the coming months to develop this much-needed code.
Week 7: Passing of the Climate Change Bill
Posted by Kylea Tink · August 05, 2022 10:00 AM
This week, I used North Sydney's voice to strengthen transparency and accountability requirements in the Climate Change Bill, and our vote to enable the amended bill to pass through the Lower House.
Week 6: My First Speech and Swearing In
Posted by Kylea Tink · July 29, 2022 10:00 AM
From being sworn in to delivering my first parliamentary speech, what a week it has been!
On Tuesday, I was officially sworn in as a member of parliament alongside my fellow Independents Allegra Spender, Kate Chaney, Dr Sophie Scamps, Dai Le, Dr Monique Ryan, Zoe Daniel and Zali Steggall. I could not be prouder to be counted among this formidable group of women, as part of an extraordinary and history-making crossbench.
Week 5: Draft Climate Change Bill and Parliamentary Sittings
Posted by Kylea Tink · July 22, 2022 10:00 AM
This week, I had the opportunity to review the Government's draft Climate Change Bill and provide feedback on behalf of our community to Minister Chris Bowen.
Week 3: Integrity and Accountability at the Forefront
Posted by Kylea Tink · July 08, 2022 10:00 AM
Integrity and accountability in politics have been hot topics this week with a number of media outlets picking up on my call for a binding Code of Conduct to be introduced for federal Parliamentarians as matter of urgency.
