Kylea shares her week
Week 9: Our community achieves incredible things by pulling together
The period from October to February is traditionally a time when many of us here in North Sydney are connecting with family and friends to celebrate our many wonderful religious and cultural festivals. I have two ideas for this festive season that I wanted to invite you to be involved in.
My first invitation to you is: As you are preparing your gift list over the next few weeks, please consider donating blood, and joining our #TeamTINK #blood4life movement. At a time of year that has come to be synonymous with material gifts, a blood donation is an incredibly powerful expression of connection and commitment to community.
My second invitation is to please shop locally for your gifts. 2021 has been yet another tough year for many of us, especially those in small business. In the coming weeks, I am going to be profiling local businesses: the people who have established them and the goods they sell. Please note this is a completely community-driven initiative and so I would love it if you could please #ShopNorthSydneyLocal, and email to let me know of any local businesses you would like me to visit.
The North Sydney electorate is a vibrant and diverse community of thinkers, feelers, doers and changemakers. Time and again I’ve seen people across our community achieve incredible things by pulling together, looking beyond immediate self-interest and seeing the bigger picture at play.
As we hurtle into the final weeks of 2021 please join me in the two above initiatives. And then, come the New Year, let’s change the climate in Canberra.

Week 21: What we're doing to strengthen the Anti-Corruption Bill
November 18, 2022
Our democracy will only ever be as strong as our willingness as citizens to actively contribute to any debate, and just on six months into this role, the capacity for me to truly listen to the many voices of North Sydney as they discuss proposed or needed legislative reform at the national level is without a doubt the most rewarding thing I get to do on a daily basis.
