NORTH SYDNEY SMALL BUSINESS FORUM
PARTICIPANT RSVP
You are invited to participate in the North Sydney Small Business Deliberative Democracy Forum on Sunday 9th March 2025 in North Sydney. You are one of 5,000 people we’ve randomly selected for this opportunity.
Please note that this invitation is not transferable. Each participant must have been randomly selected to receive an invitation via mail in order to attend.
About the event
The North Sydney Small Business Deliberative Democracy Forum will bring together a panel of 30-40 local residents to spend a day considering the problem and its solutions from many angles. You will hear from experts in business and taxation policy and be given time to reach an informed consensus on one specific policy proposal for Kylea to take to Canberra.
The viability and success of small businesses is a critical challenge for our community of North Sydney. Our electorate hosts thousands of small businesses which provide employment, drive innovation, and boost consumer choice. But many are struggling with increased costs of doing business, workforce shortages, and complex administrative burdens. These trends pose difficulties for businesses and have influenced the 362,893 Australian businesses which closed their doors in the last year alone.
It's important to note that you don’t have to be a small business owner to participate in this forum; this is an issue that affects our whole community.
How to participate
RSVPs close 14th February 2025, after which we will randomly select a group from those who have RSVPed to ensure that the mix of forum participants broadly reflects the Census profile of our electorate. We will be in touch with all those who register to advise of the outcome of the final round of selections.
Participants who attend the forum on Sunday 9th March will receive $140 at the conclusion of the event for their participation. If you need to skip a shift, organise transport or organise childcare this should help make it easier for you to participate. You will be provided with catering and refreshments throughout the day.
If you are unable to attend, please consider submitting a policy proposal to our Community Submissions page.
