Week 122: What a year for North Sydney Schools!
Kylea catching up with TeamTINK this week. |
National NAPLAN results are in, and North Sydney schools have once again done our community proud. North Sydney Girls, North Sydney Boys and St Aloysius College have ranked among NSW's top 15 secondary schools of 2024, while Artarmon Public School had the sixth-highest primary school results and was officially identified as one of 53 high-achieving schools in the state by ACARA. Children are our future. As a society, it is on us to lay the foundations for them to learn and grow into the thoughtful, informed, civic-minded people that our nation needs. Given these results — as well as the very impressive interactions that I've had with local students both within North Sydney and during school visits to Parliament House — our schools are clearly doing something right. Congratulations to the students, teachers, faculty and families on these outstanding results! With Term 4 now winding up for a number of schools in our electorate, it's certainly beginning to feel like the festive season has arrived. The summer holidays are always a busy time for families. However, please remember that term dates vary from school to school, and, as per NSW road rules, school zones remain in force until Friday 20 December. Meanwhile, it was a pleasure to catch up with TeamTINK volunteers this week to celebrate all our efforts over these past 2.5 years as an independent electorate. I'm looking forward to our next online community catch-up on Monday, 9 December at 6pm, when we'll talk about about recent wins, current challenges, and the issues that we will be focusing on in the new year. All North Sydneysiders are very welcome to attend; please register here for details. Finally, an administrative note: the North Sydney Electorate Office will be shut for the Christmas break from 5pm Friday 20 December to Sunday 5 January 2025. In the meantime, if there is anything my office or I can help you with, please do not hesitate to get in touch! - KT |
